Welcome to the Familly.

Thought i would add this to my own blog, so i can keep a personal track of my shit.

After a long time coming, and alot of trying to scrape cash together, i was finally ready to find a WRX. Had seen a few, nothing overly special, a few nice example, and they were both in my budget bracket of 5-6.5k. Good thats ok i thought, ill email these guys see if i can arrange a viewing. Now, i dont know if its in Subaru owners interest to be very one worded and un-intrested in potential buyers, but this put me off both cars straight away. However, there was this one, that i had seen on a generic car advertising site, way out of my price range, but totally immaculate, 30K on the clock, 2003, completely spotless, with the Prodrive Kit, which brings the stock power of 227 to over 260bhp, and more torque then the STI. It came in at 7.5k. So this is when i figured, i need to find some more cash fast.. and trying to sell/break Volkswagens in this climate has proved to be increasing difficult, but i managed to pull of the extra 1.5k, and meanwhile had emailed the bloke, who's name was Simon, and i warmed to him straight away, very nice guy, with heaps and heaps of information on the WRX. This increased my interest in the car ten fold. And an arranged viewing time was put out there. What i forgot to mention was it was 144miles away, and i was on such a tight budget i couldn't afford to go up there twice, so it was all or nothing - Insure it the day before purchase and order coilovers asap.

I wont go in to details on insurance, but i am only 22 years of age, and attempting to get insured, finally took me over 6 hours, with alot of light hearted ' you've got no chance mate ' But i managed it, and in my eyes the price wasn't that bad at all. And on top of that, the next morning ( the big day ) The coilovers arrived. Which could have only been a sign.

Matty, had kindly took time out of his busy schedule (yeah right matty) to take me on the 2.20h drive. Which after a few problems with sat nav taking us 20miles out of the way. It was the general stop start Friday motorway traffic that i hadn't anticipated in the slightest. But it did go all kind of ok, with one piss stop at the beloved Warwick services, which seems to be my second home now a days.

When we finally got there, i could see the Subaru glaring at me from right across the street, this was the first time i got purley excited, and couldnt wait to get on with the deal. Simon came out, almost straight away, after texting me most of the way to see how we were getting on. And i can insure you, in every single way he was excatly like our beloved freind and fellow F6'er Steven Doe. We had light heated banter, shook hands, and exchanged optimistic glances with each other as we discussed the Subaru, and Mattys Touran, which he fell in love with on the spot (no surprise there then Matt)

Test drive was as expected, and there wasn't much you can really do on a test drive, especially with the current owner sat next to you, but he did push me to put my foot down, with a 'GOFUUURITMATE' in his lovely Northern twang, which i can only put down to the fact that he knew i was already insured. I was surprised how solid it felt, and baring in mind i had already made up my mind about 20minutes before i drove it, i didn't take it very far, and quickly made it back out side his house to discuss the great British pound. Which ended up with me getting 300£ of the already supurb asking price, and is a mega bonus for me, as its petrol money for this months (and im going to need it)

The drive home was glorious, with the sun setting behind me, and ample power, the rumble as your cruising through small towns and villages is something ill never get over, i was smitten with it, in the first 20miles, and after the next 50, i was head over heels in love.
