So Thursday came around pretty quickly and the bodyshop gave me the green light to pick the car up just in time for the Edition/Trax weekend I had ahead of me. Still I had plenty to get done but thankfully Doey had blagged his old workshop for the night so we could get shit did. I rushed home from work to get the car and then go home again and load it with all my necessary tools/wheels/cleaning gear for the long haul night we had ahead of us.

We got to Winchester with high spirits and I didn't waste any time getting the car to pieces in order to remove the rear discs/hubs to press the longer wheels studs into for my 10mm spacers. The calipers came off easy enough after I'd dropped the whole rear arms down (this was totally unecessary but I wasn't to know
Out came the first disc and into the vice it went to bang out the standard wheel studs.

They came out without any bother so we moved over to the press in order to get the new studs in properly. First one in, second one in, third one in, fourth one CRACK! Thats right stupid me didn't seperate the discs from the hubs (working on my knowledge of VAG cars where they're all one unit
So now we were faced with a cracked rear disc. Needs must however and I knew I had no choice but to get the rest done by seperating the hub and out it all back together with the wheels on in order to drive home! We did this with little hassle and I rolled home as slowly as possible!

I made it in one piece and went to bed in order to get up bright and early Friday morning so I could source a replacement pair of discs. The problem I was faced with however is that being an import no one seems to stock parts and after being told by pretty much everyone I spoke to that they couldn't get anything till the following week I was starting to think that I'd be missing Edition for the 3rd year running.

Then a miracle occured in the form of a call back from one of the companies I'd rang. A fella from a new little company in Portsmouth called Mitsyart said he'd found me a pair and could have them in by 3.00pm, it was better than nothing so I gave him the nod to get them in for me! The day dragged like no other waiting on the parts arriving but when they finally did I felt massively relieved, even though I still had the task of changing them and cleaning and packing the car!

Anyway it took me and my buddy Si about 20 minutes to swap them which was nice and we got the car back on all four wheels and ready to roll! All drama's aside I was pretty pleased with the end result although it needed to be lower but I really didn't have the time! Hopefully should be sat better by Players but then wheels will be up for sale!
