There's No place like home, Theres no place like...

What do you do when you have just DESTROYED one classic car? erm... destroy another?!?!

Having just rebuilt from the ground up a 1966 Singer Chamois and then blown the engine up pretty spectacularily being a massively inexperienced, unsympathetic bastard i knew my next car had to be RWD again. but a little less fragile.

Step up a bone stock 1968 1300 Beetle.

I wont post pics of how it was when i got it. well because it brings me to tears.

it was perfect. ALL the history. all the way back to the original owner, some old dear who bunged in a grey woolsey hornet for it, she had the car for nigh on 15 years before it got into the hands of another lady.

then, me.

but it wasnt all evil intent. i let my grandma drive around in it for around 4 months while i was sorting out some bits and bobs to mutilate it.

i REALLY miss this car. like really.

it was the 1st car i properly modified, i'd played with a few. but i spent some real money on this. and for a 18 year old. it was the best thing ever!

Shit was FUCKING low. 10mm off the deck, it was undrivable, in a brilliantly stupid way.

Important bits were an original factory sunroof model 68, 3" narrowed beam, empi 8's, karman front disc conversion. Vibe 12" active sub - she was a RUNNER.

I later traded it in against the white 1.3 mk2 golf i had. the deal wasnt all sweetness, but i'll leave that.

one day i'll have another. Lower.
